A “dry” needle is a needle without medication. The needle is inserted through the skin into tight areas in the muscle. Dry needling releases tight muscle bands and decreases pain.
One of the therapeutic effects for which ultrasound has been used is in relation to tissue healing. It is suggested that the application of US to injured tissues will, amongst other things, speed the rate of healing & enhance the quality of the repair.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation uses electrical current to stimulate muscle contraction via electrodes, facilitating movement of a weakened limb.
Strapping can be used for treatment and prevention of sports injuries.
Not maintaining good posture can add strain to muscles and put stress on the spine. Therefore, postural advice and training will be provided.
When necessary, patients will be given exercises to do at home. Exercises, together with the treatment enhances healing and recovery.
